WELCOME TO MY WORLD:

Welcome to my place on the Net :)
Kaj "Bushy" Busch

Hi and welcome to the Bushy web site. The fact that I have a web site at all is somewhat of a miracle because I even have trouble driving an electric toaster, and programming a VCR or DVD player is right out! I am also one of the most boring people on Planet Earth so it might be stretching things a bit to expect anyone to log on to the site. My sole topic of interest is fishing and that is what I intend to do for what remains of my life.

My fishing interests are quite diverse and I intend to pursue all of them to the max. I love fishing plastics for my local species such as bream, estuary perch, jewfish and bass, but I also love gamefishing, as well as using a flyrod to target both trout and any saltwater fish that pop up. I suppose I would fish for anything that swims with any style of tackle.

If you need a quick personality profile I am the worlds most impatient person. If you look up the dictionary under impatient there is a picture of me on display. I am also intolerant, cranky, sceptical of anyone elses ideas on fishing and generally pig headed. In short I am not really worth talking to.

Okay, so what benefit would anyone get from logging on to this site? I guess my various personality defects tend to weed out any defects in my tackle. If I am using a particular rig or outfit you know that it will work for you as well as it does for me. If something fails in my quest for a particular fish species - it gets the flick straight away. I work on the premise that - if it ain't broke don't fix it - but I also use another great old saying - if it is broke fix it straight away. Hopefully I can save you time and money if you log on to see what is happening on the cutting edge of fishing as far as what is biting where - and how to catch the hell out of it when you get there!

Also my general and all-pervading impatience means that I am always looking for the easiest and most efficient way to catch lots of fish. Hopefully some of the tips I intend to post will allow others to improve their fishing results.

On this site I intend to list the tackle and other fishing related equipement I use. This is a cunning plan to sell lots of my various sponsors product. In theory it should work like this - I am a one dimensional fishing maniac who has to catch fish at all costs to satisfy a fierce fishing addiction. I will not use any product that is dodgy because it means I catch less fish. On the other side of the coin - if I am using a particular product, you know that it actually works, it is pretty much unbreakable, and needs very little maintenance. My idea of maintenance or repair is to wait till a particular product malfunctions and then to hit it firmly with a large hammer. If the product still doesn't work I throw it away. I generally swear loudly while I hit underperforming articles of tackle with the hammer and while I don't claim it aids in the repair, it does make me feel better.

I do fish incredibly long hours in hot or cold and often salty conditions and I have rarely been guilty of washing a fishing reel or flushing out an outboard motor. If any product can stand the Bushy treatment, any normal human is probably going to have a fair run out of it.

I hope I can have a bit of fun on the site and I intend to keep you posted on my fishing trips and the tactics and tackle I use to nail a few fish. Any good bloke would also offer a facility for answering E Mails and trouble shooting for the good people who log on to the site. I asked myself the question - should I spend time answering E Mails or spend more time fishing? The fishing won. I am thinking of offering a special Email service for those anglers who really think they need my personal advice but it would entail lodging $1000 with Neil at Sportsfish. A grand a pop for answering E mails sounds about right to me! Well, I did say I was cranky.

I have some interesting trips in the pipeline and I am working hard on some new lures so watch this space for what could be an interesting ride.

Bushy.
